TL;DR: Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been wild! From Ant-Man 3 to Secret Invasion, the body count is racking up as we say goodbye to some beloved (and not-so-beloved) characters. 😱💥 Get ready to relive the heartbreaking (and sometimes satisfying) deaths of 30 MCU characters. 💀👀👇
1. MODOK (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) 🤖💥
The iconic villain MODOK made his MCU debut in Ant-Man 3, but it was a short-lived appearance. 🥲 MODOK, aka Darren Cross, ends up betraying Kang the Conquerer to help Scott Lang and team break through Kang's shield. But, like most redemption arcs, it cost him his life. 😢
2. Kang the Conquerer (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) 👑⚡
Yup, you read that right! Kang, the guy we thought would be the big bad of the Multiverse Saga, was taken out in the same movie he was introduced. 😳 In a final showdown, Scott Lang’s crew manages to push Kang into his malfunctioning power core, seemingly killing him. 💥 Is he really gone though? We’ll see! 👀
3. Xolum (Ant-Man 3) ⚔️💀
One of the freedom fighters in the Quantum Realm, Xolum meets a quick but brutal end. 😓 During the final fight against Kang, Xolum is obliterated by Kang’s energy beam. ⚡ RIP to the spotlight-headed warrior. 😢
4. Lylla (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) 🦦💔
Prepare your tissues! 😭 Lylla, the adorable otter and one of Rocket Racoon’s oldest friends, gets killed off in a tragic backstory sequence. 💔 Rocket's attempt to escape with her from the clutches of the High Evolutionary goes horribly wrong, and Lylla is shot down. 💥
5. Teefs (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) 🦭💥
Another one of Rocket’s animal pals, Teefs, a walrus hybrid, is killed in the same escape attempt. 😢 His demise, along with Lylla’s, left fans in tears. 😭 The High Evolutionary’s guards really weren’t playing around!
6. Floor (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) 🐇💔
Rocket’s third friend, Floor, a tiny white rabbit with mechanical legs, also doesn’t make it. 😫 Just like Teefs and Lylla, she’s killed during the group’s tragic escape attempt. It's one emotional gut-punch after another in this movie. 😩💥
7. Ayesha (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) 👑🔥
The Golden Priestess Ayesha—remember her from Guardians Vol. 2?—returns in Vol. 3, only to get blown up during the destruction of Counter-Earth. 💣 Her demise leaves her son Adam Warlock in a tough spot, but hey, Marvel is all about loss and growth. 😬💔
8. Maria Hill (Secret Invasion) 🕵️♀️💥
OG S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill gets taken out in Secret Invasion, and fans are still reeling from the shock. 😳 After being duped by Gravik, who’s disguised as Nick Fury, Maria is shot and killed. 😢 RIP to one of the MCU’s longest-standing characters. 🖤
9. Gravik (Secret Invasion) 👽⚡
Speaking of Gravik, the mastermind behind the Skrull invasion in Secret Invasion, gets what’s coming to him. 😏 In an epic battle against G'iah, Gravik is outgunned and eventually blasted into oblivion. ⚡ We love to see a villain go down, but he was a tough one! 💥
10. Victor Timely (Loki Season 2) 🕰️❌
This one was tough to watch. Victor Timely, a variant of Kang, meets a devastating end in Loki Season 2. 😩 After many attempts by Loki to save him, Timely dies repeatedly in a sequence that shows just how fragile life (and time) can be in the MCU. 🌀💔

Phase 5 has been absolutely brutal, and we’re not even done yet! 😱 With The Marvels, Loki, and Deadpool & Wolverine still to come, who knows how many more characters will bite the dust? 🥲
