🕉️ Big shock for Srisailam devotees.. Key decision on bathing of devotees, do you know why?

🌊 Biggest temple in Telugu states..Srisailam. Many devotees flock to see Malanna. The number of devotees is more on parvadays as compared to normal days. But many devotees like to take a river bath before darshan. But in the coming days devotees will not be allowed to bathe in the river. As the water storage in Srisailam reservoir is limited, the authorities are arranging showers for the devotees to bathe during the upcoming Maha Kumbhabhishekam and Shivratri festivals.

🌊 The full water level of Srisailam reservoir is 215 TMC and currently there is only 38.8 TMC of water. Srisailam Dam is the second largest hydroelectric power plant in the country on the Krishna River on the border between Mahbubnagar in Telangana and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. Hydroelectric power generation has already been stopped due to decrease in water level. However, during the Kumbhabhishekam and Shivratri festivals which are held from March 1 to 11 this year, it is customary for devotees to bathe in the waters of Krishna. While the water level is 38.8 tmcs, there is only a meager outflow of 960 cusecs. With this, the temple authorities are planning to set up showers at the Patalganga bathhouses behind Rajula Satram and RTC bus stand and conserve the water so that the devotees can take a bath. Steps are being taken to take baths at Lingalagattu below the dam. 🚿
