China has completed the construction of a bridge across Pangong Lake, located near the eastern Ladakh border, further escalating tensions in the region. Satellite images have revealed vehicles traversing this new bridge, which has been strategically built to allow the rapid deployment of troops to the border area. Pangong Lake, located near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, has been under Chinese control since 1958.
The satellite images also show four additional structures on the lake's northern shore, including Khurnak Fort, which has been occupied by China since 1958. Historically, this fort was situated along the India-China border before its occupation by China. Two helipads are visible in the Khurnak Fort area from the satellite images. During the 1962 war, China used Khurnak Fort as its main base for operations in Ladakh.
Furthermore, other satellite images have unveiled artillery positions and a network of trenches connecting various points from north to south, demonstrating the extensive military infrastructure China has established in the region.
