the red

Red symbolizes both sensuality and purity. Red is the most important color in Hinduism. It is a color often used in weddings, festivals etc. Even the gods love the color red. Red flowers and chimney are offered to Goddess Lakshmi. This color is considered to be an indicator of strength, courage, charity and prowess.

amber

Amber is the most sacred color in Hinduism. It represents fire. This color is considered as an indicator that the body and mind have been cleansed from impurities. That is why monks mostly wear amber colored clothes. Anjaneya Swamy has a saffron flag. Hanuman's entire body is also of the same color. There is also a short story behind it. One day Lord Hanuman asks why Sita is putting vermilion on his forehead. Since then Hanuman wears this color throughout his body as it is said to represent the protection and well-being of Lord Rama.

green

Green represents a nature. It is considered to be a symbol of joy, new beginnings and happiness in life. Green is the color that represents nature and hence this color is also given importance.

yellow

Yellow represents knowledge, learning. Symbolizes happiness, peace, meditation, efficiency, mental development. Indicates the season of spring. Stimulates the mind. Yellow colored clothes and yellow sweets are offered to Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna and Lord Ganesha. Spring festivals start with yellow. Yellow color is worn to ward off evil spirits. Girls choose this color mostly to attract their peers. Turmeric is sacred.

white

White is a mixture of seven different colors. It represents purity, quality, cleanliness, peace, wisdom. Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, is sometimes shown seated on a lotus, dressed in white. Represents spirituality. Also a symbol of progeny. But white should not be used in Holi celebrations.

the blue

The creator gave blue color to nature. Blue is seen in the sky, sea, rivers and lakes. Blue color represents the qualities like courage, manliness, strong will, ability to face difficult situations, stable mind. Krishna has a blue body.

pink color

Pink is the most used color in Holi celebrations. Represents youth and health. The art of celebrating Holi gives more enthusiasm. This is the color that girls like the most.
