Ignoring weather department warnings, some fishermen risked their lives by venturing into the sea. In a close call, a fishing boat from Anakapalli district encountered a major mishap. The boat, registered as IND-AP-V5-MM-245, set off from Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour, heading towards Pudimadaka for a fishing expedition.
While fishing, the boat developed a leak due to the increasing wave activity caused by low-pressure conditions. As the waves battered the boat, the seven fishermen onboard decided to jump into the sea to save their lives. The boat eventually wrecked near the Papikonda shoreline, but all seven fishermen managed to swim to safety.This incident highlights the importance of adhering to weather advisories to prevent such dangerous situations.
