Central government has taken another important decision. The Modi government at the Center has made an important announcement for the 75 lakh women in the country. The second phase of Ujjwala scheme was approved in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. Under this new 75 lakh free LPG connections will be distributed. At present 9.60 crore women are benefited by Ujjwala scheme. After the distribution of new free LPG connections, the number of beneficiaries will cross 10 crores. The Modi government has made it clear that these 75 lakh connections will be distributed in the next three years. Under the Ujjwala scheme, the government will give a subsidy of Rs 2,200 per connection on free LPG gas cylinder connection. About Rs.1,650 crore will be spent from the government treasury for this. Petroleum companies will bear the entire cost of providing free gas stove along with filling of the first cylinder free of charge.
