With the Indian Premier League concluding, the stage is set for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in the USA and West Indies. All participating countries were required to announce their squads by May 1. Taking into account the performance of players in the IPL, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has formulated a robust team strategy.
Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif has selected a 15-member Indian squad for the World Cup. Notably, players like Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, and Shubman Gill did not make the cut. Instead, Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag were chosen. The team also includes spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel. The pace attack will be spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, accompanied by Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. Rishabh Pant has been selected as the wicketkeeper.
