Early on March 29, a C-130J aircraft of the Indian Air Force touched down in Yangon, delivering approximately 15 tonnes of relief materials. The supplies included tents, blankets, sleeping bags, food packets, hygiene kits, generators, and essential medicines to aid those affected by the disaster.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized India's commitment, stating, "We will continue to monitor developments, and more aid will follow." This underscores India's dedication to standing in solidarity with Myanmar during these challenging times.
🏥 Deployment of Rescue and Medical Teams
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, India has dispatched an 80-member team from the National Disaster Response Force (#NDRF) to assist in search and rescue operations. Equipped with specialized tools and accompanied by trained canines, this team is set to make a significant impact on the ground.
In addition, a 118-member Indian Army Field Hospital unit is en route to Mandalay from Agra. This team will provide first aid and emergency medical services to the affected population, addressing the critical need for medical assistance in the aftermath of the earthquake.

India's commitment extends to the seas as well. Two Indian Navy ships, INS Satpura and INS Savitri, have set sail carrying additional relief materials, including clothes, essential medicines, and rations. These ships are expected to reach Yangon by March 31, further bolstering the relief efforts.
