Jawaan was released today with huge expectations. Atlee's direction and Anirudh's music have all increased the expectations of the movie. Trade experts also predict that 'Jawan' will earn more than 'Pathan'. And how is this movie?
The movie 'Jawaan' starts very interestingly. A man who can face even an army is in a village forgetting his past, a metro train hijack after 30 years... Director Atlee started the film interestingly. A crucial twist that is revealed after the first half & hour is shocking. Everything in the first half is very racy and fast. And the interval episode is sure to give goosebumps. Another twist is also revealed here.
Vikram Rathore's flashback in the second half gets emotional. The investigation scene where Shahrukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi come face to face for the first time is emotional. But this flashback episode seems to wrap it up. After the flashback ends the story moves very fast. From there, the movie ends in two action blocks. A Bollywood star cameo, and the twists that follow seem to fit in even if there is no space in the story. 'Jawaan' will give Shah Rukh Khan fans goosebumps. There is no doubt about that. Seeing a Bollywood star in a South Indian mass entertainer will definitely be new to the audience there. In fact Shahrukh's target is the same with this movie. Atlee did 100 percent justice to that. The placement of songs hinders the story. For example, there is a song between Shahrukh and Deepika Padukone in the second half. The tune of the song is not very impressive. Deepika seems to have put it for Padukone even if there is no need there.
Some points in the story also seem very silly. It is said that logic should not be sought in commercial cinema, but they are too much like a stone under the teeth. There is a prison in the movie. But it's not like a prison. It contains prisoners. But they are not prisoners. In Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu movie Prakash Raj's language... A good jail, good prisoners, better jailer. The way Nayanthara's character is written is impressive. Showing the heroine as the mother of a child in a commercial film seems a bit new. The villain character is also written very strongly. Vijay Sethupathi's one-liners are laughable here and there. Special mention should be made about the action scenes in the movie. There are five main action sequences in the film. All this has been brilliantly screened. The pre-climax chase, the interval bang but the mass elevations bring goosebumps. Atlee's movies are a good choice for kids. It is also seen in this. The scenes between Nayanthara's daughter and Shah Rukh Khan in the first half are fun.
The songs rendered by Anirudh Ravichander are soso. The picturization of 'Chalona' song is good. The background score alone gives goosebumps. GK Vishnu's cinematography is impressive. Some of the camera moments feel very new. The production values are very rich. 'Jawaan' is a must watch for Shah Rukh Khan fans. Shah Rukh hasn't appeared in a commercial film of this level recently. General audience will also like this movie. Bollywood almost got another Rs 1000 crore grosser.
