This marks a 53% increase compared to last yearās IPL campaign. The official streaming platform for the IPL tournament logged an impressive 35,000 crore minutes of watch-time.
Since the beginning of the IPL, JioCinema's views surged by 38%, concluding the season with over 620 million views. JioCinema kicked off the live streaming of the inaugural match with six prominent user brands: Dream11, Thums Up, Parle Products, Britannia, Dalmia Cements, and HDFC Bank.
Record-Breaking First Day with 11.3 Crore Views!
The opening match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) saw JioCinema set a record with 11.3 crore views. The platform's viewership rose by 51% compared to the opening day of IPL 2023, surpassing 590 million views. On March 22, during the CSK vs. RCB match, the platform recorded 660 crore minutes of watch-time, offering 12 language feeds, 4K view, multi-cam views, and a stadium-like experience.
JioCinemaās video quality enhancements were well received, with TV viewers spending an average of 75 minutes on AR/VR and 360-degree views, up from 60 minutes last season. The official announcement highlighted these innovations as a significant factor in their success.
The IPL 2024 final match saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinch their third IPL title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 26.
