Early this morning, around 7 AM, our brave security personnel launched an anti-Maoist operation based on some solid intel. They ventured into the dense forests near the Bijapur-Dantewada border, specifically in the Gangaloor area. As they advanced, they faced heavy gunfire from the Maoists. But our forces stood their ground, leading to a fierce encounter that lasted several hours. By the end of it, 26 Maoists were neutralized. Sadly, we lost a valiant DRG jawan in the crossfire. The teams recovered a cache of weapons and explosives from the site.
Kanker District: Another Front, Another Victory
On another front, security forces were active along the Kanker-Narayanpur border. Acting on precise intelligence, a joint team of the DRG and Border Security Force (BSF) moved into the forests near Koroskodo village under Chhotebethiya police station.
