West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee has announced that if the INDIA alliance forms the government at the center, she will support it from the outside. While she had previously clarified that there would be no alliance with the INDIA coalition in her state, Mamata has now provided more clarity on her stance.
She highlighted her key role in forming the INDIA coalition and even suggesting its name, but emphasized that in West Bengal, the CPI(M) and Congress are working for the BJP. Last week, Mamata made sensational comments, urging people not to depend on CPI(M) and Congress as they are aligned with the BJP.
Mamata fiercely criticized the BJP, accusing it of being filled with thieves and predicting its failure to achieve its target of over 400 seats. She said, “The BJP claims they will win 400 seats, but the people know that’s not possible. The entire nation understands that the BJP is full of thieves. If the INDIA alliance forms the government at the center, we will support it from outside. We want our mothers, sisters, and workers in the 100 Days Job Scheme to not suffer.”
She also assured that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will be repealed, and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will not be implemented.
