A tragic plane crash occurred in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, resulting in the loss of 18 lives. The incident happened at Tribhuvan International Airport when a plane crashed during takeoff. The aircraft was en route to Pokhara and had 19 people on board, including crew members. The crash took place at around 11 AM, according to officials. Upon receiving the information, police and fire personnel rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations and extinguish the flames that erupted.
National media reports indicated that there were 19 technical staff members on the plane. Among them, 18 lost their lives, while the 37-year-old pilot, Manish Shakya, survived. The rescue team promptly arrived at the crash site and began their operations. The injured pilot was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. So far, 13 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage. The rescue operations are still ongoing at the crash site.
