New Liquor Policy in Andhra Pradesh from October 1st! 🍾

New Liquor Policy in Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh government is working hard on crafting a new liquor policy. To develop this new policy, they've decided to study various states' approaches. After a review meeting with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the government announced this decision. Andhra Pradesh has formed four teams consisting of officials to study liquor policies in six states: Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Each team will have three officials.

These teams will explore several aspects like excise policies, liquor shops, bars, liquor prices, purchasing trends, quality control, payment methods, and digital payments in these states. Additionally, they will focus on preventing illegal liquor sales and controlling drugs. They'll also study the implementation of track and trace systems and the operation of de-addiction centers. The teams will submit their reports to the government by August 12, highlighting the best practices from each state. The Andhra Pradesh government aims to implement the new excise policy from October 1st.
