In a shocking twist, CBI officials investigating the Nursing College Scam in Madhya Pradesh were caught red-handed accepting bribes. This has brought a new wave of controversy as the very officials tasked with curbing corruption were found indulging in it.
During the investigation, CBI officials conducted raids on the nursing colleges accused in the scam. However, allegations surfaced that these officials were accepting hefty bribes from the colleges to alter the investigation reports in their favor. This led to a high-level surveillance operation, which caught the officials in the act.
The scandal revealed that instead of taking action against the fraudulent colleges, CBI officials took bribes ranging from Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs from each college. The scandal has caused a massive uproar, leading to the arrest of several CBI officers and 22 other individuals involved.
A few days ago, the Nursing College Scam in Madhya Pradesh came to light, prompting the High Court to order an extensive investigation into various colleges. The state government then handed over the investigation to the CBI, which included officials from the Indian Nursing Council, Patwaris, and other staff. Allegations soon emerged that the CBI team was accepting large sums of money during their inspections.
Reports suggest that to obtain a favorable report, the colleges bribed the CBI officials, distributing amounts as high as Rs. 50,000 to nursing officers and Rs. 20,000 to Patwaris within the team. Following these allegations, senior CBI officials launched a swift operation, catching several team members red-handed.
The CBI has since registered cases against the Deputy SP, two inspectors from Madhya Pradesh, and 22 other individuals, including directors and chairpersons of eight nursing colleges, staff, and intermediaries. A spokesperson for the CBI stated that this case proves that corruption will not be tolerated at any level.
