#PrakashRajInControversy Again: Telugu Audience Disrespected?

Prakash Raj, a prominent actor who started his career in Tamil under the direction of K. Balachander, has worked in multiple languages, including Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. However, he is most recognized for his extensive work in Telugu cinema, where he is known as one of the highest-paid character actors.

Despite the respect and numerous roles he has received from Telugu directors and producers, and despite settling in Hyderabad with a house and farm, Prakash Raj often seems to have a certain irritation towards Telugu media and audience. This has led to multiple controversies over the years, with several criticisms directed at him.

During the pre-release event of Dhanush's movie "Raayan," which marks Dhanush’s 50th film and his directorial debut, Prakash Raj appeared visibly annoyed. When the audience cheered loudly, Prakash Raj asked them to stop shouting. Later, when the audience noise continued, he expressed his irritation by saying, "Can you stop for two minutes? Let’s talk responsibly."

After his comments, he praised Dhanush’s achievements and his inspiration to many. However, the incident sparked discussions in the industry about Prakash Raj's recurring conflicts with the Telugu audience. A producer pointed out that such behavior might not be tolerated in cities like Chennai or Bangalore.

The Telugu audience and industry have elevated many actors from other languages, with Prakash Raj being a notable example. The question remains why Prakash Raj seems to express such frustration towards the Telugu audience, and many believe that although he is a great actor with numerous awards, he might benefit from managing his temper better.
