This incident took place outside Chatham House, where Jaishankar was giving a talk. The protester was part of a small group supporting the Khalistan movement, which is all about creating a separate Sikh homeland. The Indian government sees this as a big security threat. Our Ministry of External Affairs didn't take this lightly. They expressed their disappointment over how some people misuse democratic freedoms and called on the UK government to stick to their diplomatic duties. They said, "We deplore the misuse of democratic freedoms by such elements. We expect the host government in such cases to fully live up to their diplomatic obligations."
