YS Sharmila, known for her candid opinions, has once again targeted her own brother, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, showing discontent with his opposition stance. Sharmila seems determined to dismantle her brother’s political career, recently focusing more on him than on rival leader Chandrababu Naidu.
In the last elections, Jagan's party won a landslide victory with 151 Assembly and 23 Lok Sabha seats. However, this time, they faced a devastating defeat, securing only 11 seats, a stark contrast to Jagan’s ambitious "Why Not 175" slogan. This defeat is attributed to several factors, including internal conflicts, opposition from Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, and significant criticism from his own sister, Sharmila. Although she did not win, her efforts were aimed at ensuring her brother did not return to power. There are even rumors that she covertly supported Chandrababu Naidu.
Currently, as YS Jagan prepares to fight against the ruling TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP coalition, Sharmila continues to undermine his efforts. Recently, she made sensational comments about the Vinukonda murder, accusing Jagan of politicizing the incident, stating it was a personal feud, not a political one.
Amid heavy rains and floods causing distress in the state, Sharmila criticized Jagan for traveling to Delhi instead of addressing local issues. She questioned why he wasn’t participating in the ongoing Assembly sessions to address public concerns, especially when farmers are suffering significant losses due to the floods. Sharmila stressed that Jagan has done little for agriculture compared to their father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who prioritized farmer welfare. She accused Jagan of neglecting YSR's irrigation projects and failing to maintain existing ones.
