With just a month away, the T20 World Cup set to be held in the United States and West Indies has received terror threats, sending shockwaves through the cricket community. The West Indies Cricket Board has received specific threats from ISIS, leading to a significant ramp-up in security measures.

According to international media reports, a pro-Islamic State media outlet, Nashir News Pakistan, has initiated campaigns calling for attacks on sports events. A video from the IS Khorasan group in Afghanistan has surfaced, urging its supporters from various countries to take action. In response, the CEO of the West Indies Cricket Board assured that the highest security protocols are being established. “The safety of everyone attending the World Cup is our top priority. We have devised and are implementing a robust security plan,” he stated. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to start on June 1, with the finals on June 29.
