#TrainDerailment for YouTube Fame: Youth Goes to Extremes

The craze for viral videos has reached alarming levels among the youth. We've heard stories of people losing their lives while trying to shoot dangerous videos, but this one takes it to another level. In Lancaster County, Nebraska, a 17-year-old boy wanted to make a viral video for YouTube. His plan? Derail a train.

In April, he went to a train crossing in Monroe, Nebraska. There, he tampered with the lock on the switches that guide the trains. He set up his camera on a tripod nearby, ready to capture the chaos. Soon, two locomotives and five carriages from BNSF came along. The driver had no time to react, and the trains derailed. The boy quickly called the railway authorities, pretending to report an accident.

Officials arrived and started their investigation. They discovered that the switches had been tampered with and suspected foul play. When they questioned the boy, he admitted to filming the derailing train but denied any involvement in the switch tampering. However, his actions and video evidence led to serious consequences.
