Great news for students dreaming of studying in the USA! The US government has released interview slots for student visas up to May 31, tailored for the Fall season admissions. Now, students can book their slots online at the US embassies in Delhi, and consulates in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
This release of a large number of slots reflects the US's commitment to facilitating international education. According to a consulate spokesperson, the slots will be available in phases, with June dates opening in the third week of this month. Future slots for July and August will be released based on demand.
In a step to streamline the visa issuance process, fingerprinting of students will be conducted first, followed by the interviews. Once the student visas are processed, tourist visas (B1, B2) will also become available. Officials estimate that the student visa process will be completed by late August or mid-September, and tourist visa slots are expected to open by late September or October, before the US presidential elections in November.
